As I was making these watercolor pieces, I became interested in the explosions, acts of violence, and the residue left as a result. I started looking at photographs documenting acts of violence in war. The more I looked at these war photographs, I became interested in the residue left after the act the smoke, the smog, the haze of particles left after the explosion or fireand how this residue interacted the with landscape. It was after noticing the residue of these acts, that I could directly relate them to the watercolor pieces.
