Don't let the glitter deter you. These pieces are elegant, delicate, and special. Each sparkle represents the magic in nature. My work is supposed to represent things we see everyday that we often over look. I want these pieces to remind you how special our natural world is.
My pendants are slowly coming out of the bath, and they look so good. These are tiny handmade watercolor paintings that are adorned with 18k gold leaf. They are then permanently encased in copper. They are so hard to photograph! They look soooo much cooler in person. I am going to patina them black, so the gold pops. I hope to have some legit photos, soon!
I guess my last post would have applied to yesterday’s #marchmeetthemaker, which was motivation/goals. I have so many goals, I don’t know where to begin sometimes! But in the end, it all seems to work out. Right now my goal is to get these pendants finished! As for motivation, that would be my family. They keep me running.
I’m all about that texture.
I am relearning the best times of day to work in my new studio space. The lighting is just right, right now. Today I am supposed to be cleaning and organizing (still!). I hate cleaning 😭I will hopefully get a picture of my hands at work for today’s #marchmeetthemaker, at some point. ✋👋😬
I have been off my game keeping up with posting on the blog. But I have been keeping up on Instagram! I am horribly busy in my studio getting ready for art fair season. Until today I have been watching my kids and working past midnight. I have been exhausted. I finally have a nanny to help. So, starting today I should be better.
I know I have been quiet. I have neglected my project. But not really. I have been writing in my journal every night, and preparing for longer, more involved posts. I have also been immensely busy making work. Commissions have been coming in consistently (thank you!!!), and it is the season for art fair preparation. I have to make a lot of work for these fairs. It is what I love doing, but it keeps me so busy! All good things.
My art fair applications are coming back. All good news so far. I will announce when and where, soon! I also have two projects that I have been laboring on that I haven’t had the courage to share yet. I am so excited about it all. Thanks for sticking with me. I hope you enjoy these new pieces!
A blue bee in an antique frame. I have collected antique frames for years. Finally, I have some paintings that work perfectly in some of them. 😃
This one turned out so lovely in an antique frame. I am thinking about doing a shop update this weekend. Sign up for my newsletter to get first dibs (link in profile)
