Day 57

Don't let the glitter deter you. These pieces are elegant, delicate, and special. Each sparkle represents the magic in nature. My work is supposed to represent things we see everyday that we often over look. I want these pieces to remind you how special our natural world is.

Day 56

Still working on this grasshopper. I am behind on #marchmeetthemaker, ugh. I will get back on track tomorrow. I have had such a busy week. We started remodeling our bathroom. And I have tried to keep my kids out of the house because of all the noise. I am ready for the weekend. Hopefully I can get in my studio for a bit. 😬🙏

Day 52

I guess my last post would have applied to yesterday’s #marchmeetthemaker, which was motivation/goals. I have so many goals, I don’t know where to begin sometimes! But in the end, it all seems to work out. Right now my goal is to get these pendants finished! As for motivation, that would be my family. They keep me running.

Day 49

Today’s #marchmeetthemaker is #photography! It’s hard for me! Especially because my paintings are sparkly! But I think I am getting better at it 😬I have a couple cameras, but I’ll be honest, I usually use my phone. I try to take photos from different angles and kind of light to give the feel of the piece. My work is always best experienced in person, though

Day 46

I am relearning the best times of day to work in my new studio space. The lighting is just right, right now. Today I am supposed to be cleaning and organizing (still!). I hate cleaning 😭I will hopefully get a picture of my hands at work for today’s #marchmeetthemaker, at some point. ✋👋😬

Day 43

I have been off my game keeping up with posting on the blog. But I have been keeping up on Instagram! I am horribly busy in my studio getting ready for art fair season. Until today I have been watching my kids and working past midnight. I have been exhausted. I finally have a nanny to help. So, starting today I should be better.

Day 41

Today’s #marchmeetthemaker prompt is “full time or part time”. I feel lucky enough to say this is my full time gig. I teach privately and paint my butt off in the winter, and I do art fairs in the summer.

This beetle is on the work bench today. I love adding layer, after layer, of my unique watercolors to create texture on these pieces. The beauty of painting on panel, is you can see the texture better than behind glass.

Day 32

A little lacewing for you. I am working on my writing behind the scenes. I am preparing to combine #my100daysofwritingsomething with the #marchmeetthemaker prompts, for some more involved posts. Also, I will have a shop update this weekend. 🐝
